2007 Santa Julia - Malbec

I actually had my pizza with an 06 Malbec by Trumpeter. Santa Julia and Alberti make a very similar Malbec so you could go with any of the three. It's a nice change from your everyday red. It's silky smooth and has that nice spice to go with the pepperoni and the subtle cream to with the cheese. It still has that dark red fruit though like dark cherries with out the bitterness. You have to love what Argentina is doing for wine and at easy prices. It's wine like this that shows Argentina's ability with Malbec.
